How to convert a string from lowercase to uppercase in oracle

In Oracle, UPPER function converts all letters in the specified string to uppercase.
The syntax for the UPPER function is: UPPER(string).
For Example
SELECT UPPER('shaheer') FROM DUAL;
RESULT : SHAHEER
